Nestled in the scenic highlands of Gampola, Ambuluwawa (also known as Ambuluvava) rises 1,087 meters above sea level, standing about 700 meters above the Mahaweli River Valley. The highlight of Ambuluwawa is its biodiversity complex and Sri Lanka’s first multi-religious sanctuary, where you will find a Hindu Kovil, a Muslim Mosque, a Christian Chapel, and several Buddhist shrines coexisting in harmony. The most iconic feature is the towering white structure that spirals upward, resembling a modernized Buddhist stupa, offering panoramic views from the top.
